Description
Railroad Short Name: DRGW
The Rapido Trains Rio Grande Ski Train brings a skiier’s favorite to HO Scale! A Colorado tradition since the early 1900s, the train was re-equipped with former CN Temop Coaches and former Amtrak F40PH diesels. Tempo Coaches were built by Hawker-Siddeley in the late 1960s for corridor service in Ontario and Quebec. They were the first aluminum, head end power (HEP) equipped passenger cars in Canadian National’s fleet. The Denver & Rio Grande Western bought most of the Tempo fleet cars and refurbished them for it’s popular Ski Trains. Former Amtrak EMD F40PHs were used to haul the updated trains. The Ski Train cars are available in Cafe-Bar-Lounge 3-car sets and additional coaches and snack coaches are available to fill out your consist as desired.
