Research by Rapido found that the CP Budd mid-train dome is a close representation to the “California” ski train car. You will notice that the window arrangement doesn’t match. Both Rapido and Spring Creek Model Trains recognize it is not exact but the closeness allowed both companies to feel that the production could be done. Unfortunately the exact car SP&S vista dome sleeper has not been done at this time.
Everybody loves a good dome car. We have done a Budd mid-train dome in the Ski Train paint scheme named “California” in the later years paint scheme featuring the Rio Grande “Ski Train Denver- Winter Park” logo.
Dome-Coach (1955-1983) has coach seats on the lower level of the long end and operates long-end
forward.
