Description
Railroad Short Name: MSDR
Mississippi Delta (MSDR) “Ex-RI Patch 1991+” gives 1990s+ modelers a great example of a patched RI car. MSDR assumed the lease of two Ex-RI cars in 1991. They were patched and continued in auto parts service in MSDR’s pool of second-hand cars. The model features all the accurate RI details, including a late-1969 body build, End-Of-Car Cushioning underframe, truck-mounted brake gear details and 100-Ton “Low Profile” Barber S-2-A trucks with accurate rotating “Brenco-6” roller bearing caps. Tangent has carefully duplicated the patches and stencils, even down to chalk marks found on one side of the prototype as MSDR patched and renumbered the car in 1991.
