Tangent HO Trinity 4750 Covered Hopper BNSF “Wedge”

BNSF “Large Swoosh 2005” complements our BN car offering in this run of Trinity 4750s, for those that model BNSF in the conspicuity era.  This car is a stunner with its BNSF oxide red paint color, the large and bold BNSF swoosh logo on the right side of the carbody, and the conspicuity stripe markings alongside the model.  These cars are former BN Trinity 4750s built in 1994.  These cars have a Phase 4 body and bolster arrangement, including the jacking pad design that is less long horizontally, and with an oval-shaped attachment hole in the center.  Additionally, these cars introduce the “bolt on” outlet gate design that was found on some of the Trinity 4750 prototypes.  Up on the roof of the cars is a carbody red painted galvanized “slope up” Morton-design running board, and the fiberglass trough hatches that BNSF applied are replicated on our model.  The ends of the cars include a body-mount brake system, Universal 9300DC brake housing, tube-style defect card holders, and straight-handle coupler lift bars, all of which are accurately modeled on our Tangent replicas.  Underneath the cars, the centersill dividers have access holes in them like they should, and a “angled style” AEI tag mount.
