Description
Railroad Short Name: UP
The City of Los Angeles was an oasis of quiet comfort and its dome-lounge cars offered a cozy retreat where passengers could relax over a favorite beverage, a game of cards, or just watch the passing scenery. The #9000-9014 series cars were delivered in 1955 as lot #4096, plan #76-1938, and were rebuilt for mid-train service in late 1956, resulting in slight changes to the interior and the addition of an exterior diaphragm. This detailed WalthersProto model also features:
- Prototypically accurate window tinting & black gaskets as appropriate
- Factory-installed stainless steel grab irons
- Modeler-installed extended drawbars for use on 22″ radius curves included
- Turned metal wheelsets and correct trucks with built-in electrical contacts
- Fully assembled and finished in authentic colors
- Proto MAX(TM) metal knuckle couplers
PLEASE NOTE: As these cars are the correct prototype length and feature full underbody detail to match the prototypes, a minimum 24″ radius is recommended for operation.
